Sara & Marvin

Planning an Italy wedding for Sara and Marvin was such a wonderful and unique experience. They both happen to be locals to Berlin so it was great getting to know another couple from the area. Being destination wedding planners, we rely on mostly Zoom calls but with this couple, we looked forward to plenty of in-person meetings. Not only that, but we also traveled to Lake Garda together to seek out their venue, Villa Cortine Palace Hotel. Such a highlight experience for us! The couple immediately fell in love with the space and knew that this is where they would be committing their lives to one another.

Wedding weekend in Italy

When planning an Italian wedding, preparing for the weather is a must. You can get either hot and sunny days or a stormy and rainy weekend (even though this is very rare). For Sara and Marvin’s wedding, we ended up getting a little bit of both. Because our team likes to be extra prepared, we were fortunate enough to have made several backup plans of where each event of the night would take place.

The outdoor ceremony overlooked Lake Garda on the Villa Cortine’s balcony. During this time we had beautiful overcast sun. Afterward, the rain caught up to us so we moved the reception indoors to dance the night away. The following day, the couple offered brunch to all their guests. This is a great way to gather your guest once more before saying goodbyes. They also had a pool party in the afternoon for those that stayed in Italy longer. This is a great opportunity to gather the guests once again and spend more time together.

Unfortunately, the fireworks could not take place on the evening of the wedding due to the weather, so we spontaneously organized a small event the day after. After the pool party, we asked all guests to come to the pier. Since it was a bit cooler outside, everyone put on their bathrobes that we had provided at the hotel. On the pier, we set up a champagne station and when they arrived outside they were greeted with glasses and a surprise fireworks display to see the newlyweds off.

Incorporating lemons into the wedding decor

Sara and Marvin were looking for timeless and classic Italian wedding decor. Most importantly, they wanted the venue to shine and not overpower the space with florals. With those details in mind, we created a color palette of soft pink, white and warm orange. The florist was able to incorporate this into floral arrangements and create a color gradient look with beautiful roses. Sara also wanted to add a fresh touch to both the invitations and wedding decor with lemons. We loved this idea and added lemons to the tablescape as well. We finished it off with all white linens and plates with silver accents.

A Waterfront Villa

Our couple knew they wanted to get married on Lake Garda so, finding a venue that provided them with lake views was essential to their Italy wedding. Another amazing part of the Villa Cortine Palace Hotel is that it can house 90 people. Meaning all of their guests were able to stay on site. This is very much any wedding couple’s dream as it takes away the worry of transportation or additional hotels. The Villa Cortine has many different spaces that provide different options for wedding events. Since it was on a lake, they chose to do a buy-out of the entire property so they could be as loud as they wanted to and enjoy their weekend. Altogether this Italian wedding venue is one for the books. We hope to hold many more weddings at this beautiful Lake Garda wedding venue.
