What makes a non-traditional bride?

A non-traditional bride is someone who uses fashion to express themselves, who enjoys making a statement, and has a natural edge to them. If this sounds relatable, you might feel out of place in ball gowns, tulle, and chiffon and these wedding dress designers love you for it. Who says confident, bold style can’t be feminine and playful. The beauty of choosing a non-traditional wedding dress doesn’t mean that your wedding can’t still have elements of a traditional wedding.

Being a non-traditional bride is about testing the lines, creating an eclectic marriage between tradition and innovation. Even better? There are so many options out there to choose from. We strongly believe everyone can be a non-traditional bride if they dare.

Choosing your dream dress

If you’re on the fence about whether to go for a traditional or non-traditional wedding dress for your big day, ask yourself the following questions.

How do I want to feel on my wedding day?

How do I want my guests to feel while attending our wedding?

Most importantly, am I picking my style to appease anyone other than myself?

Your dress should emotively describe how you want to feel on your wedding day. Your theme should match how you want your guests to feel during your wedding. While the last question will help you bridge the gap between your answers and help you define the values of your wedding. You’re final question to help yourself pick the perfect dress for you and your big day is, does this dress compliment the venue and setting of our wedding? If you keep gravitating towards long sleeve dresses but you know it’s going to be 90 degrees and humid, a little dose of reality can help you make the right choice. The best dress option is one that honors your preferences, ties into the theme and venue, and is a practical and complementary choice to your location.
