A Tuscany Wedding Elopement
Tucked away in Cortona, Italy is Villa Montanare. The beautiful bride and groom chose this venue for their romantic Tuscany wedding elopement.
Originally, there was a big wedding planned in South Africa. They were to have their family and friends surrounding them for a full day of celebration. Given the guidelines and conditions for 2020, they had to postpone their big wedding and decided on an intimate elopement wedding in Europe.
We were able to plan this Tuscany wedding elopement in just a short 3 months. The most important part for this couple was to have a private location. So we chose a property secluded in the Tuscan hills.
The design and decor concept is a combination of texture, looseness, and modern boho vibes. We made sure to match this idea to the style of the location and included surroundings.
We mixed dried flowers with fresh flowers in neutral and earthy tones. This created a unique look and texture. The orchids gave the essence of a luxurious twist. Overall, the wedding was a modern romantic inspiration.
Their sacred ceremony included herbs picked in the morning from the venue’s garden. The bride and groom were surrounded by freshly picked plants as a ritual. Each herb represented a different wish and quality for the marriage. They had oregano for joy and sage for wisdom.
What made this wedding so special to our team, was that it was our first elopement. An incredibly intimate and emotional experience. Many couples rarely consider getting married without their friends or family by their side. We were able to see the impact of how beautiful a small wedding can be.
THE COUPLE ONLY HAD EYES FOR EACH OTHER AND DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES.
Unfortunately, sometimes it’s those special moments that get lost in big weddings. We got the opportunity to experience the hours leading up to the wedding with the couple and the team even more intimately. Being present at the Getting Ready and even had a few minutes to toast with the whole team. Something like that usually rarely happens for us as planners.
The most memorable moment for us was leading the bride from her room to the steps where she would then walk to the groom. The wedding ceremony was very emotional for the two of them and we cheered along from afar. The view of this couple saying “I do” in the Tuscany vineyards was absolutely breathtaking.
