Modern Renaissance Berlin

The setting for this modern renaissance wedding inspiration was Herrenhaus Vogelsang in Germany, an old manor with ailing charm. Vogelsang is first mentioned in documents in 1379 and lies in a beautiful, hilly landscape surrounded by lakes shaped by the Ice Age. The manor is representative of Europe’s old structures reflected in times of the New Romanticism against the backdrop of a neo-Gothic façade with towers, battlements and open stairs.

The goal was to create a contrast with modern decoration in this antique ambiance and the photos remind us of beautiful old painting from renaissance times. With a color palette of warm sand tones to pick up the color of the unrendered brick walls, paired with ivory tones, pale grey and cool blue as a fresh accent.

We from IDO Events, designed this understated luxury wedding inspiration for the modern bride. We love to play with contrasts in our design concepts to create a wow factor. The combination of different textures, materials and colors is the key for this modern bridal shoot. Inspired by the colors and the look of the old manor, the plates were used as a subtle base for the table setting combined with classic crystal glasses to underline the old character of the building. The matte black cutlery and candleholders create a modern contrast in the décor. The main color accent was blue which was used in the napkins and florals. Katya from Stavitsky Bloom found the perfect balance to mute the blue a little bit to make it look softer and warmer. The dyed phalaenopsis orchids gave everything a very elegant and sophisticated look. Toffee colored roses added more warmth to the arrangements and cream colored anthuriums, white sweet pea together with sandy roses build a very festive wedding look.

The two lace dresses from Annika Maria Wedding Dresses added a romantic, yet modern vibe.

Earthy colors and velvet textures made for an opulent make-up look created by Isabel Plett. Organic skincare and make-up products ensure natural glowy skin while being kind to the planet and the people. An effortless low bun for one look and soft, elegant waves for the other, embody "modern romance".

The photographer and videographer couple Pia and Chris from The Saums captured these looks beautifully with their keen eye for details and their fashion forward approach. Their wedding photography is inspired by their work in fashion and focuses on capturing real moments in a modern yet timeless way.
