An Italy Castle Wedding Reception
In these dark winter days, we find ourselves longing for far-flung destinations that excite our imaginations. So a team of vendor friends from all around Europe gathered to create a micro Italy castle wedding inspiration. We found the setting to build our scene in the heart of the Puglian fields. Castello Marchione is set apart from the busy coastal towns by miles of olive tree-lined roads. The characteristics of this 4th-century castle are such as timeworn towers, vaulted ceilings, and Roman arches. It sets a romantically traditional backdrop for weddings of all sizes.
Finding inspiration for the design was effortless. Learn about how we combined a terracotta style and earthy tones for this tablescape.
A dreamscape wedding concept and design
Out team was influenced by the late summer landscape of the Puglian countryside. With its' naturally dried wildflowers and sun-drenched stone. The color palette incorporated raw sienna and burnt brick that mimicked a warm Italian summer sunset. The aesthetic of the composition as a whole is contemporary, but by using traditional local materials such as linen and terracotta we impart an earthy authenticity that harkens to the ancient locale.
Foods featured in this tablescape were also carefully curated. Antipasti spreads are quintessential in Italian gatherings. We love how the cured meats and delicacies are thoughtfully displayed on speckled stone slabs that match the building’s facade.
Many would argue food culture is the single most important part of Italian life. Celebrations are centered around sharing food, memories, and rejoicing in love. Keep this in mind when choosing your entrees or appetizers for your guests.
The bridal looks
What better way to make a statement than a Toni Maticevsk designed pantsuit. This fashion-forward piece is truly one of kind. Features asymmetric ruffles and a sweeping train to create an unconventional look. To not detract from the striking outfit design, we went with a classic hair-slicked-back style. This beautifully accentuated her bone structure. As for the make-up, it was kept in warm brown tones to also match the warm tones of the shoot.
Our second look had a more romantic approach. The model wore a sleek silk dress with a halter neckline, freshwater pearls, and removable off-the-shoulder drapes. Giving a sense of Hollywood glamour but with a fresh, sensual take. To accentuate the back of the dress, we chose a low bun. A touch of smokey eyeshadow and glossy lips completed this look for our Italy castle wedding styled shoot.
Terracotta style wedding tablescape and florals
We are still drooling over Botanic Affairs’ floral designs. They created a wild, earthy look with muted, warm tones and textures using fresh blooms and foraged flowers gathered from the fields surrounding the venue. We hope to see more eco-friendly installations in 2022.
For the traditional scene of the tablescape, we wanted to create an inviting table that was both fun and modern. Beautifully local crafted tableware emphasized our style. Puglia is known for handmade ceramics. Therefore we used terracotta plates and pearl glazed chargers made by Claydès Art & Ceramic. They are local Italian artists that brought our vision to life in the most stunning way.
